From the nation that brought us baguettes, berets and bubbly, comes a festival dedicated to bringing the latest and best of French cinema to Australia, and it’s a ‘oui’ from us.
After last year’s exceptionally successful 30th Anniversary, the Alliance Française French Film Festival is back for another big season, with the Canberra instalment kicking off on Thursday 12 March.
The 31st edition of the Alliance Française French Film Festival will showcase an exciting selection of contemporary French cinema, guaranteed to captivate audiences across the country.
The diverse range of films included in this year’s line-up means there’s something for all film lovers keen to immerse themselves in some French culture.
The festival will make its grand Canberra entrance with a très chic Opening Night Gala featuring a special screening of The Extraordinary, an uplifting tale of human compassion. Attendees will enjoy sparkling wine and canapés on arrival, followed by an after party including drinks, a buffet and live entertainment.
Other Canberra festival highlights include Ladies’ Night on Thursday 19 March, featuring the screening of Love at Second Sight, and the Tuesday 31 March showing of The Mystery of Henri Pick, a mystery-drama about the world of book publishing; which will be followed by a panel discussion with local Canberra authors.
The festival will say ‘bon voyage’ to Canberra on Wednesday 8 April, with a special Closing Night screening of The Bare Necessity, featuring drinks, finger food and live entertainment.
Tickets for the Alliance Française French Film Festival are available now from the Midnight Hotel Concierge.
